New elementary school planned for Rockwood
(Wellington-Halton Hills) – The Provincial Government has announced that it has approved the
development of a second elementary school in Rockwood.
According to the Upper Grand District School Board, the new school is needed to ease the current
overcrowding at Rockwood Centennial Public School. The new school will be built to accommodate 308
students and the school board hopes to be able to welcome students by September 2014.
“This is great news for the community,” said Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott. “I know that the
school board and staff as well as local parents have worked hard to make this vision a reality.”
The school board’s target budget is approximately $6.1 million.
