MPP Arnott attends grand opening of Georgetown library
(Queen’s Park) – On the weekend, Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott attended the grand opening
of the renewed and expanded Library and Cultural Centre in Georgetown.
Mr. Arnott was at both the Official Grand Opening Gala Friday night, as well as the ribbon cutting
ceremony on Saturday.
“I want to congratulate the Mayor, Council, and Staff of the Town of Halton Hills and the many community
volunteers on the official opening of the new Halton Hills Library and Cultural Centre,” Mr. Arnott said
afterwards. “For more than a century, Ontario’s libraries have been vital centres of knowledge and
culture, in communities large and small across the Province. This new community meeting place will be
well-used for generations to come.”
The new Library and Cultural Centre created 51,000 square feet of fully accessible space and will offer
enhanced programs and services to meet the needs of Halton Hills residents.
Mr. Arnott presented a scroll to Town staff to mark the occasion.
“I would like to give special recognition to our library staff for their helpful and conscientious
professionalism,” he added.
