Finance Committee holding Pre-Budget Consultations
(Queen’s Park) – As the Ontario Government prepares for the 2013 budget, the Standing
Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs will be holding Pre-Budget Consultations in the
coming weeks to seek advice from Ontarians.
“Pre-Budget consultations are an important part of the legislative process,” said Wellington-
Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott. “It is an opportunity for all Ontarians to have a say in the
upcoming budget. I hope the Government will start listening.”
“Anyone who has any concerns about issues relating to the provincial Government can make a
submission and ensure that their voice is heard,” Mr. Arnott added.
The Committee will be holding Pre-Budget Consultations in Windsor, Timmins, and Ottawa
during the week of March 11 and in Toronto March 21 and 22. Anyone interested in making an
oral presentation to the Committee should contact the Committee Clerk, Katch Koch at
katch_koch@ontla.ola.org before noon on Friday, March 8.
Written submissions can also be sent to the Clerk until 5:00 pm on March 22.
No Pre-Budget Consultations were held last year due to the Government’s initial refusal to
establish Legislative Committees, in the aftermath of the October 2011 election.
