“On behalf of the residents of Wellington-Halton Hills, I want to express my appreciation to the Government of Ontario for its support of Pearle Hospitality’s redevelopment of the Elora Mill Hotel and Spa, and adjacent properties.
This once-in-a-generation project will allow our community to take its rightful place as one of Canada’s finest hospitality destinations.
It will also create an estimated 210 full time jobs.
For more than four years, I have worked with successive Townsh ip of Centre Wellington Councils and Staff to help with the proposed renovation of this extraordinary and historic heritage property. I want to thank the Township of Centre Wellington for their outstanding work. On July 23rd, 2013, I wrote the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Employment to express support for the application to the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund related to this project, and since then I have tried to help anyway I could.
As I have said before, the scenic beauty of our Province and the generous hospitality of our people give Ontario a significant competitive advantage in the world-wide tourism marketplace.
And with this project in Elora, the world will come to us, and we will welcome our visitors with friendly warmth and kindness.”
